Lenovo Announces its First Googlebook with a 15-inch OLED Screen

Lenovo announced its first Googlebook on September 28, a 15.3-inch laptop running Googlebook OS with an OLED touchscreen and Intel Core Ultra 5 processor. The Googlebook 15 starts at $1,099.99 and is scheduled to go on sale October 4.Lenovo joins Acer, Asus, Dell and HP in Google’s first group of Googlebook hardware partners. Google describes the platform as built on Android technology with desktop foundations from ChromeOS. Lenovo says its model can connect with Android devices, as detailed in the company’s announcement.

What Lenovo’s model includes

The 15.3-inch OLED touchscreen has a 2.8K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Lenovo lists memory options of 16GB or 32GB and storage options of 256GB or 512GB. All configurations use an Intel Core Ultra 5 325 processor.

Lenovo says the laptop weighs under three pounds and can run for up to 12.5 hours on a charge. Those are manufacturer figures, not independent test results. The company lists a starting price of $1,099.99 and an October 4 availability date for the United States.

Googlebook OS is distinct from Windows, so people who rely on Windows-only desktop software should check compatibility before buying. Google says the first Googlebook models from Lenovo and other PC makers will reach stores in the United States on October 4, with availability in Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany and Australia starting October 5, according to Google’s availability announcement.
